We could not have appreciated Valori's help more in our early postpartum haze. Our baby struggled with eating early on. It was great to have Valori's help with baby's wakeups every 2-3 hours so that we could catch up on sleep a few times a week. She was a pro at putting our baby back to sleep, too. Having someone else able to help clean bottles and pump parts, multiple overnight wakeups, and prep breakfast and provide other minor household help took the load off even when she wasn't there, too. We also really appreciated Valori's flexibility with her hours and contract so that we could keep adjusting to the timing that made sense for our family as our baby started sleeping longer stretches at night.

My name is Valori Sharp, and I live in the beautiful mountains of San Diego in a small, rural community called Pine Valley. I’m a wife, a mom to two amazing daughters, and a dedicated perinatal birth worker. I’m also in school to further my career and become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). In the rare moments I have some spare time, you’ll likely find me reading a good book or enjoying coffee with friends while our kids play together. My journey into this work began with my own experiences of pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and breastfeeding—and it wasn’t always smooth sailing. After having my first daughter at 17, with no support, education, or community, I learned the hard way just how challenging and isolating postpartum can be. Fast forward years later to welcoming my second daughter, I was determined to do things differently. I educated myself, leaned on my support system, and found the tools to thrive. Even then, I saw how much I could have benefited from hands-on, expert support during the most vulnerable moments. That’s why I’m here—to provide the care I know every parent deserves. As a Certified Postpartum Doula, Certified Lactation Educator, and Certified Postpartum Nutrition Coach, I offer a well-rounded approach to postpartum care. Whether through daytime or overnight support, lactation guidance, nutrition coaching, or education sessions, my mission is to help families feel supported, confident, and nurtured. I believe that no one should navigate postpartum alone, and I’m here to walk alongside you, offering compassionate care and expert advice to make this transition smoother and more joyful. Valori’s knowledge, patience, sensitivity, and respect for our family as a whole truly sets her apart. She has a realness and connectivity about her that is so grounding, especially at a time when we were at our most vulnerable and emotional state as first time parents following a high-risk pregnancy. I often found myself talking to Valori on the couch, taking in her stories and guidance on multiple challenges connected to breastfeeding, navigating family dynamics, baby wearing, and all the early education of learning how to nurture and care for my colicky newborn. Valori also helped us navigate nursing hurdles due to lip tie and jaundice (which made him extra sleepy and unmotivated to latch). I contribute our continued success with nursing to Valori’s support and guidance in those early months. I truly don’t know how we would have managed the newborn stage without her encouragement and knowledge. Valori is a gem! I cherish the time we had with her, and I look forward to having her by our side when we decide to have our next baby.
