I wanted to pass on my sincere gratitude for all of the work that Methodology has put into designing and building our new home (currently under construction). They supported us through the design, approval, and current construction of our home.

Methodology Architecture
Methodology Architecture is a Pasadena-based design studio creating contemporary homes across Los Angeles — from Pasadena, Altadena, and the San Gabriel Valley to the Westside. Our work is rooted in the California tradition: homes shaped by light, landscape, and the rhythms of daily life, where interiors open gently to gardens, courtyards, and sky. We design custom residences, renovations, multi-family housing, and fire rebuilds with a spirit of clarity and care — clean forms, quiet materials, and spaces that feel both refined and deeply livable. For us, great architecture isn't about statement-making. It's about atmosphere: the way morning light falls across a room, the way a home settles into its site, the way daily life feels a little more beautiful.

Jim ChenAugust 2026 Nathan ChungAugust 2026 We recently worked with John on the design and planning of our coffee shop, and we were extremely impressed and satisfied with the results! One of my biggest concerns when working with architects is the lack of communication and how siloed the process can feel, but that was absolutely not the case with John/Methodology. John was highly communicative and consistently checked in throughout the entire design process to make sure we, as business owners, were able to provide input and stay aligned every step of the way. He not only delivered a great design, but also made the experience collaborative and seamless.
Andrea SotomayorAugust 2026 John's expertise and attention to detail truly shone through as he crafted and designed the kitchen of our dreams. His thoroughness ensured that every aspect of the design not only met but exceeded our expectations, capturing the essence of our vision flawlessly. John's talent extended beyond aesthetics, as he skillfully incorporated our desire to merge the outdoors with the indoor space by integrating ample natural light into the design. This thoughtful touch not only brightened the room but also brought a sense of the outdoors inside, creating a refreshing ambiance. Moreover, his keen eye for functionality ensured that the kitchen remained a practical and efficient space, where every detail served a purpose. With such an exceptional job on the kitchen, there's no doubt that entrusting him with the design of the rest of our home will result in nothing short of perfection!
